My Nikon branded MC-36 remote release cable / intervalometer is falling apart. I don’t blame it after a good decade of use but Nikon is still a bit out there when it comes to replacing it. Seems a remote release for a D800 should cost $200 according to Nikon. Or, I can pair up a smartphone with a $30 Triggertrap (that’s my old iPhone pictured) and get the same functions, plus sound trigger, vibration trigger, timelapse, HDR metering, distance lapse and more. Yeah easy sell. This also packs smaller, since I tend to have my phone anyway.
