Eugenia Falls, in Grey County’s Beaver Valley, has a hard water problem…. the waterfall has frozen solid. Even in the spring there is not much flow here due to the small watershed and diversion to the hydro plant to the north, so I am not overly surprised to see the waterfall frozen today. This is from the overlook on the Bruce Trail – it would be quite the adventure getting to the bottom right now.

A view of Hogg’s Falls on the Beaver River near Flesherton, Ontario. This is a tricky spot to get to in the winter, mainly due to the ice and snow on the sides of the valley. I spent the day visiting three waterfalls in Grey County and each has a unique charm.

These boathouses in Beaverton are seeing more snowmobiles and ATVs than boats right now. The Beaver River has a "hard water" problem right now…

This view is from the "Alligator" setup at the Algonquin Logging Museum, near the east gate of the park. The logging alligator is an amphibious tug boat like vehicle that would have been used extensively in the region. Here’s a view out the windows from the wheel house.

This is the "theatre" area in the now abandoned Burwash Correctional Centre and Farm. The chair and the room is lit with ambient and some flashlights were used to highlight features like the chair.

While a lot of people grumble about the arrival of here, I am quite happy to go out and find snowscapes to photograph. Here, some critter has decided to wander across a golf course.

A couple maple leaves, a fern on one of the more interesting rock formations at Secret Lake in Temagami. Taken on a beautiful autumn day during our houseboat vacation in September.

We were not the only group doing photography at Burwash Correctional Facility & Farm that night. A musician named Marc-jean Desjardins was on site filming a music video for his song called "Insane?". Around midnight the group decided to light the drum set on fire while his drummer played, which of course attracted all the photographers in a hurry. This is on the roof of the complex too.

This is a door at Burwash Correctional Facility and Farm, which closed in 1975. I loved the colours on the door and the wall behind so naturally I pointed the camera at this.

A hallway in Ontario’s abandoned Burwash Correctional Institute and Farm. The doors have long been vandalized here, and the hallway made for some fun shadowplay.
