Well, like clockwork the town is gearing up for Christmas. Today is the day of the Georgetown Santa Claus Parade, and here, one of the floats is getting ready before the event at the Marketplace.

My flight home tonight took a rather unusual approach to the airport. We overflew 6L instead of landing on it, and that gave me this view of the airport from above. We eventually did land on 6L, but approached it from the east instead of the more familiar west approach. The photo was taken with my iPhone out the window – which due to FAA changes we were still allowed to use in airplane mode during the landing (I was on a Delta flight so I guess the USA rules applied here…?).

Our evening entertainment after the day’s meetings in Minneapolis involved a game called Whirlyball. I’d never seen this sort of this before – it’s a bit of a cross between lacrosse and bumper cars. Great fun, I’d do that again…..

Took a flight to Minneapolis today with my boss. Since we were on a smaller CRJ aircraft, all our carry-on was still checked into the hold. Here the ground crew is retrieving our bags from the jetway at CYYZ.

This is one of the biggest nights of the year for me, the BFL Boot Camp event. Here is the scene a few minutes after the "launch kits" were announced. This is our all night geocaching event and it was the eighth year we spent the entire night outside geocaching. We’re already planning the ninth event.

A wetland in Patterson Tract. One of the BFL 8 caches is hidden in this woodlot, and I had some time to kill while I waited for the cache owner to arrive. When I have time to kill that usually results in my wandering around with a camera of some sort. The black and white is an HDR image taken on my iPhone 5s with Pro HDR and the B/W treatment was done right in the app on site.

This is Avernar, beta testing a geocache we placed for BFL Boot Camp Illumin8. The geocaching event runs overnight and features geocache placements specifically tailored to being located at night.
