227/365: Powering the Stars.

A quick shot of the hydro towers on the outskirts of town. I tossed on my ultrawide lens, and leveled it toward the pylons, and then cranked the angle a little skyward. Took 6 photos here and went with this one. Barely noticed all the air traffic until I downloaded the pictures.

226/365: Happy Cat.

Another late night at work – three in a row had me so tired I was tempted to just forget about today’s photo. Latté, on the other hand was full of energy. She missed me and put on one heck of a show of affection. So here she is, my photo for the day.

225/365: Corridor.

The hallway to my office, where I spent most of the day. As I left only 15 minutes before midnight, this was the best photo opportunity I had for the day.

224/365: Black Eyed Susans, Norval.

Took a stroll through Lucy Maud Montgomery Garden in Norval. A lot of the flowers are pretty much done for the season but these black eyed susans are still quite happy. I achieved what I was hoping for on this photo, where you can look at the point of focus and lose yourself in the flowers.

223/365: Tom Thompson’s Cabin.

A recreation of Tom Thompson’s cabin at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Few Canadians, particularly those who visit Algonquin, are unfamiliar with the artist.

222/365: The Layers of Hamilton Beach.

A view from the Hamilton Beach trail, showing the layers that one sees from that vantage point – the foreground dune ecosystem, the lake and the sky. I love that this view doesn’t drop any hints about being smack in the middle of the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area – probably the densest urban area in Canada.

221/365: Twilight on the Trail.

Hiking in Albion Hills Conservation Area, as we seek geocaches. Of course, I had my camera handy so as the last rays of the day’s sun poked through the leaves, I was right there to capture it. I love the light change between the dark forest and the part that still enjoys the light of day.

219/365: Building Things.

A quick, end of the night iPhone photo of how I spent my off-time today. Building a shower at my father’s house. It’s not always about the camera time.

218/365: Silent Sentinel.

A video camera at an abandoned gas station in Mississauga. The camera is still there, but the pumps are gone, and so are the customers. This sentinel watches as the weeds slowly take back the pavement.
