Went to a popular poutinerie near Mont Royal (on the Montréal Plateau). Wandered over to Parc La Fontaine afterward to log a geocache. While we were there, the old building on the corner had a little bit of a light show – seems the firefighters in Caserne 16 had the lights going on the firetrucks. Well, that was my cue to wander over with my camera in hand. Asked permission and then went to town taking some photos of their trucks.

I spent the weekend working in our Montréal office, but managed to get a little bit of time to explore the city. This is looking toward the city’s downtown core from Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène. I would encourage anyone to explore this city and this park – lots of wonderful things to see around here.

This is the Highway 401 ONRoute – Odessa rest stop near Kingston, Ontario. Even though the picnic area is renovated, I still feel it looks back on a more romantic time for highway travellers. These picnic areas are almost always this quiet when I travel the highways in Ontario, so I felt I wanted the image to reflect a different era.

Another photo from the "wilderness" spot I found in Brampton. Tonight, I wandered down to a bench I spotted from afar. This lost bench is under a tree not far from the Credit River. Based on the overgrowth it looks like it was forgotten with time.

This is a buck, standing in a meadow. What makes this interesting is that the meadow is off the Credit River in Brampton, Ontario. This is a city of over 500,000 people… and at least one deer. Photographed from the Heritage Road bridge on my way home from work.

Just some drinking straws from the cupboard. Lighting was a big 820 lumen flashlight pointed at it and the lens choice was a nifty fifty with an extension tube on it.

One of the things that Georgetown shares with, say, Belfast is that we’ve made up our alleyways into something more than just a space between buildings. Here, the back door of the Shepherd’s Crook – an Irish Pub – shows a scene that could easily be Irish.

I’m back at that shoe tree in Norval today. I now know why it had flowers on it in the spring …. it turns our the tree with the shoes on it is an apple tree of some sort! I’ve now photographed this tree … from this side … in autumn, spring and summer. I’ll have to come back in the winter for a snow photo some time to finish the set.

This photograph sums up my day perfectly. I spent the bulk of the day floating down the Credit River in Caledon and Glen Williams visiting geocaches. In the picture, Husky Patrol floats in their raft while Chris-Mouse has opted to walk this section.
