Boiling the Sap

The pioneer maple syrup exhibit at Kortright Conservation Centre. The maple sap is boiled in these large cauldrons to remove the water content. Each of these is at a different stage of the boiling.

This hypnotizing spiral is on the fence that keeps visitors safe at Niagara Fall’s Table Rock viewing area. The ice has formed from the mist from the Falls.

Algonquin Dunes

This is the top of Ragged Falls on the Oxtongue River as of the weekend. Fluffly looking snow dunes that would be a terrible idea to cross on snowshoes. There’s a dangerous waterfall hiding under that.

Blocked Bruce

The Bruce Trail, in Speyside shows some damage from December’s ice storm. Here, the trees have slumped over making the trail impassible on the original routing.
