58/365 : Mocha’s Favourite.

This is a photo of Kristen with Mocha, our calico friend. Thing is, we just came home from getting our hair done and if there’s one thing Mocha loves, it’s hair products.

57/365 : Icicles.

Went for a stroll today on the Caledon Trailway. At several intersections there is a little pavilion with a map of the trails in the area. These pavilions had icicles hanging from them and that’s what I pointed the camera at. This was taken with what I like to call my “bokeh” lens. It’s my 70-300mm zoom from my film camera. I haven’t used it very much on my digital camera since the lens I have for it is a ridiculous 18-200mm range and has VR stabilization. This lens has no image stabilization so it’s a bit more difficult to use but the bokeh it produces is far better than any other lens I own.

56/365 : Roll Up.

Not much in the way of photos today, but this photo pretty much sums up my day. Went to the Outdoor Show, didn’t take much in the crowded convention centre then went to get a Latté afterwards. It’s nearly spring so my favourite coffee chain is running their roll up the rim promo. Today, I happened to win a free Latté which I will cash in on tomorrow 🙂

54/365 : Departure from 23.

A flight departs Lester B. Pearson International Airport from Runway 23. This is taken from Davand Drive, where some of the runway’s marking lights sit on little towers between this road and Dixie Road. I started out shooting the patterns but when this flight popped up from the runway, the camera was adjusted accordingly. Probably not the last airport/runway photo for the project, since I work so close to this place.

53/365 : Spying on Street View.

Spotted this one while heading out to my after work run on the Etobicoke Creek Trail. Seems the garage around the corner from my office services the Google Street View cars. There were four cars here when I drove by. This got a bit of treatment in Instagram to minimize the background clutter and the geek factor makes it my photo of the day!

52/365: Changing Mobility.

A photo from the office today. Left side is what we used to use to keep in touch. Right side is what we’re using now. We’ve gone from using the iDen network with those push to talk (and push to tick off everyone else around you in the restaurant) buttons to Blackberry’s with scroll wheels, trackballs, trackpads and now we’re rolling out iPhones. What about next year … who knows? That’s just three years of mobile devices you’re looking at on that shelf as it is. The photo was taken with an iPhone 4S.

51/365 : Silo Abstract.

Today’s photo comes from a Bruce Trail hike I took. While scoping out a location for an upcoming geocache, I found this silo. Well, first thing was first I had to take a look in there and then I spotted that shadow play with the blue sky background. Didn’t take long for the camera to come out.

50/365 : Waiting for Table 15.

Not much happened today…. Went for dinner and a movie. Dinner was scheduled to be at our favorite little café in Burlington called Kneads & Harvest…. Only. When we got there there was a sign on the door, Closed for Renovations. That wasn’t the problem. There was ANOTHER sign which is what indicated trouble – coming soon Artisan Cafe. So our favorite spot is gone. That’s the problem with best kept secrets… They don’t make enough money to keep going. Back to the photo- we are inside our hastily chosen alternate, the local Williams Coffee Pub. They seem to be on hard times too with a greatly simplified menu (my Lasagna choice is gone). Here we have ordered and await our food. The food came 40 minutes before the coffee did ….

49/365 : Credit River Snowscape.

Another day where the early morning provides me with all I need for photos. I was out and about running errands in town after our early morning snowfall. That meant everything was beautiful with fresh snow hanging on branches and such. Took a few photos here and there then wandered over to my geocache “Leaf Peeper Leap” overlooking the Credit River in Georgetown. As I expected, I found a wonderful winter scene.
