48/365: Log Your Find.
This is an old geocache, published in 2001. I’m not going to give out the exact GC code as that would be a “spoiler”. The cache is hidden in a pile-o’logs which brought out the iPhone 4S with my ōlloclip again. We visited this while night caching in the area.
47/365 : Lonely Tree on a Grey Morning.
Today’s inspiration came early. This tree is just outside Georgetown and normally has a terrible background that it blends into. On foggy days, or misty days (this morning it was freezing rain), the background gets dissolved out and this tree can stand out from the rest.
46/365 : Mucho Mocha.
Busy day here, no time to venture out for today’s photo. No problem, I have a friendly calico named Mocha and an ōlloclip handy. Here is a close up with the fisheye.
45/365 : Love.
Enjoyed a Valentine’s outing with my wonderful wife tonight. These little chocolate hearts marked the end of our Thai dinner. It was clear to us that Georgetown Thai was putting their best effort to their service tonight, and they pulled it off admirably. There’s a reason you reserve your table weeks before Feb 14 rolls around … Every table had a happy couple – including ours.
44/365 : Monday Morning.
Here’s the start of my Monday. Wake up. Find door frames with forehead. Try not to fall down the stairs. My morning doesn’t really get started until I’ve seen this sight. It’s quite simply my coffee grinder getting ready to give me that perfect brew, the one that will get me to work and be ready for that 8:01 support call.
43/365: 43 Macro.
Well, I admit it … today I’m being lazy about my photo of the day. I hibernated, stuck around the house did all the chores and such so … not much interesting scenery. The show must go on though, so, here’s an iPhone4S/olloclip macro of my microwave oven’s display 🙂
42/365 : It’s Cold Outside.
Today’s photo is a pretty good illustration of my feelings about the weather. Winter is finally here, we got a bit of snow to prove it. While out visiting the Wal-Mart in Milton, the Corolla’s thermometer said -12C and we felt that. Maybe we’re wimping out since it’s been so mild this winter. Anyhow, this doesn’t show snow, or cold. What this shows is one smart little bird, that’s figured out how to stay warm – it’s hanging out inside the climate controlled Wal-Mart. Here, it’s silhouetted against the in-store lighting over the grocery department.
41/365 : BFL visits the Ghost Train.
Friday night is BFL night. Tonight we headed to Brantford for the Ghost Train after Dark series. The caches are placed along a trail beside an abandoned railway line. Here, I’ve thrown the camera on a tripod, opened the shutter and ran down the trail with a BFL. The writing is me pointing my flashlight at the camera.
40/365 : Make A Point.
Today, I’m just making a point of posting a photo. This is a handheld shot of a green thumbtack sticking into my bulletin board at the office, using the iPhone4S. It’s also another fun macro shot courtesy of my olloclip. I’m having way too much fun with this thing. Pulled up the saturation a bit in Snapseed and that was about it.
39/365: … are you nuts?
When I first started the project, I had a number of friends supporting my goal. Now that I’m over a month into the project I sort of agree with the ones that asked “am I nuts?”. Sure, but it’s been fun dreaming up new things to point my camera at. This photo is actually just a few nuts laid out on a TV tray, with three flashes – the SB-600 was a bit problematic, it’s starting to show it’s age so there’s a wad of aluminum foil inside the battery compartment helping out (!). I’ve also got an SB-800 over on the right hand side and the on camera flash is being used as well. They’re all set to 1/32 power and diffused. Nice thing about this day’s photo … I got to have a snack afterwards 🙂
